Join us for this exciting look at fire and forest management issues at Bernheim Arboretum and Research Forest, near Louisville, Kentucky.
This workshop will explore fire management effects on forest/woodland communities, especially related to biodiversity values. There will be a field tour of prescribed fire and research sites, and indoor presentations on the following topics:
1. Forest and fire management effects on regional forest communities (Heather Alexander, Mississippi State University)
2. Historical vs. modern floral diversity and fire management implications (Cecil Frost, Univ. of North Carolina)
3. Prescribing fire amid 21st century challenges (Kurt Dreisilker, The Morton Arboretum)
SAF and TWS continuing education credit anticipated!
